The following BLCS committee positions are now available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Treasurer<\/strong> \u2013 the elected person will be Treasurer-elect from the date of the election until the Annual Meeting in March\/April in 2024, when they will become Treasurer for three years.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ordinary Members<\/strong> \u2013 those elected will serve for just under three years from the date of the election until the Annual Meeting in March\/April 2026.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chair-elect<\/strong> \u2013 the elected person will be Chair-elect from the date of the election until the Annual Meeting in March\/April 2024 when they will take over as Chair for two years, and then be Vice-Chair for a further year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Both nominees and nominators (proposer &amp; seconder) must be members of the Society and the permission of the nominee must be obtained. Nominations should be made by <strong>email<\/strong>. The Nomination form can be found on the last page of this letter which you can download from this link: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blcs.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/BLCS-steering-committee-advert-2023.pdf\">committee nominations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The timeline for the election process is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>14<sup>th<\/sup> April &#8211; Nominations open.<\/li>\n<li>12<sup>th<\/sup> May &#8211; Nominations close.<\/li>\n<li>19<sup>th<\/sup> May\u00a0&#8211; Members will be told of the nominees for each post and online voting begins.<\/li>\n<li>9<sup>th<\/sup> June &#8211; Voting ends.<\/li>\n<li>16<sup>th<\/sup> June &#8211; Announcement of successful nominees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The details of the online voting will be released in due course.<\/p>\n<p>We acknowledge that this election is unusual due to the previous elections during the Covid19 outbreak, which have forced a change in timings, and that the next terms of office will aim to return us to the normal timetable (i.e. election deadline at the Annual meeting each year).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The BLCS is now seeking nominations onto the steering committee.
